Phonic Sets

We sorted through out reading books and organised the books that were phonically decodeable (Still contain HFW). We then orgnaised the booked into phonic phases (phase 2-5) and further divided into sets (see image below).

I use this as part of a phonics enhancement / challenge. I used a popcorn tub, wrote some words on yellow / beige paper and then scrunched them up and put them in the popcorn tub. The children were then challenged to take out a piece of 'popcorn' open it, read the word and then write the word on the recording sheet.
